JEAN VANIER
L’ARCHE BEGINNINGS Find here a brief history of the first L'Arche home, a bit about Jean Vanier, and the beginnings of L'Arche Arnprior. Welcome OUR VISION The vision of L’Arche is rooted in a fundamental belief that each person is of unique and sacred value. The primary purpose of community is to help each person to discover, develop, celebrate and use their gifts for the good of others. OUR COMMUNITY With partners such as churches, day programs and agencies, we help make the town of Arnprior a welcoming community for all people. In our homes, people with developmental disabilities, and those who come to assist them, live in family-life settings in three group homes in Arnprior (homes are better referred to as Supported Independent Living, or SIL). OUR CORE MEMBERS Each and every day is a day of memories; sometimes disappointing or sad; never knowing how the day may unfold. But more often than not, our core members bring unexpected surprises, laughter, and joy into the life of community! PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES L'Arche Arnprior is committed to supporting individuals to live the life they want to, to have strong relationships, and to participate actively in community life and in the community of Arnprior.
